About Us

The St. Mary's County Tennis Association is the only chartered association of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) in St. Mary’s County.  SMCTA operates new player programs at Tennis Welcome Center parks, the USTA Jr. Team tennis league, USTA League Tennis (Adult/Mixed/Senior divisions),  Social Doubles and other activities.

The SMCTA is separate from the Department of Recreation and Parks, but we do work closely with them for many of our programs, and vise-versa. 

Our Mission

As a non-profit tennis group, SMCTA will promote increased participation in tennis as a means of healthful recreation and physical fitness, encourage and assist individuals and organizations offering local tennis programs, operate tennis programs directly when beneficial to the community, and coordinate the development of USTA programs in St Mary’s County and assist and coordinate the following:

+ Professional Instruction
+ Junior Tennis
+ Adult and Senior Leagues
